Our second KS1 Phonics Study and Practice Book develops the phonics journey started by the Letters Lane Team in our Workbook 1. Many schools use daily Phonics in Foundation Stage and Key Stage 1 to teach children how to become good readers and accurate spellers. Phonics teaches children to recognise individual letter sounds and sounds made by groups of letters. It teaches children to break down or segment words into separate sounds and blend these sounds back together to read the whole word, including nonsense or alien words to show their understanding of how they would use phonics to decode unfamiliar words.
The Letters Lane Team supports your child with learning more common High-Frequency and Tricky Words and helps them develop an understanding of the past tense, spelling rules and much more.
Have fun learning with Foxton!
